If so, then this is the overnight camp out for you! Bring along your parents and your brothers & sisters for a special introduction to Cub Scout Camping, and "SURVIVE THE ADVENTURE!" District Camporees: Rancho Los Mochos is host to district Camporees for both the Golden Gate Area Council as well as other local councils from the Bay Area. Camporees are held on a council or district basis and are held at any time of the year. Camporee programs include contests, competitions, demonstrations of outdoor Scouting skills as well as campfires, games,and field events. These activities can show Scouting at its best.: National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT): Click here for more information NYLT is a week-long outdoor experience for present and future youth leaders. Attendees are presented with training and leadership tools to help them develop as servant leaders within their unit and the community. NYLT attendees are trained to take a leadership role in their home unit, greatly helping Scoutmasters and Venturer Advisors meet their responsibilities to provide leadership training and maintain a youth-run program. The course focuses on teaching advanced leadership and planning skills in an intense, team building and collaborative atmosphere. Order of the Arrow: Click here for more information Los Mochos has been the site for Order of the Arrow ceremonies and service work parties since 1949. Machek N’Gult lodge 375 supported Rancho Los Mochos in its’ early years, followed by Achewon Nimat lodge 282 and now Yerba Buena lodge 719 continues the long tradition of helping to support the camp and its needs. Wolf / Bear Weekend: Click here for more information Wolf / Bear weekend is a unique two-night camping program for Wolf & Bear Cub Scouts and their adult partners to be challenged at Archery, BB guns, Nature, Crafts and so many more fun activities! Wolves & Bears are invited to travel back in time for a weekend of new skills and exciting adventures at rustic Rancho Los Mochos Scout Camp in the scenic Livermore Hills! Wood Badge: Click here for more information Wood Badge is a training course for Scouters which finally results in their receiving a certificate, a small neckerchief, a leather slide, and two small wooden beads on a leather thong. Lord Baden-Powell, the founder of Scouting, directed the first course in 1919 and gave each of the participants one of the beads which he had captured from the African chieftain Dinizulu. Thus did the course name develop, for its symbol was literally a badge of wood.
